2025 Service Awards Nominations
The Sally Compton Award and the Rookie of the Year Award are the most prestigious awards that the club offers. The Compton award began in 1995, to acknowledge Sally Compton and her many, many years of service to the club which epitomized the true spirit of volunteerism. When voting, please remember you are voting for the member who consistently contributes to the club. It should be a member who frequently goes above and beyond the call of duty.
The Rookie award began in 2012, to honor individuals who have been a club member for three years or less and have shown outstanding service and contributions to the club. When voting, please remember you are voting for someone who consistently contributes to the club and has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

2025 Awards Forms
If you've earned 10 work credits in 2025, you are eligible for club awards!
It is the policy of FVDTC to give awards for AKC, CKC and UKC titles earned at trials, tests or shows each year. To receive a club award, you must have a total of 10 work credits for the year and be listed as a Regular Training Member in the Roster. If for some reason you have not met ALL your requirements and can justify the reason, your eligibility will be reviewed by the Board of Directors
The Volunteer Award recognizes those who volunteer their precious time to FVDTC but who are not applying for a title award during the year. To qualify for this award the member must:
- Be a member in good standing
- Earn a minimum of 10 work credits in 2025
- Earn the work credits themselves, not by family or other members.
Please remember, all forms need to be submitted by January 31. Instructions are on the forms.
2026 Annual Meeting
FVDTC's 2026 Annual Meeting will be held via Zoom on January 14, 2026. We will be discussing a by-laws change. (See the November Waggin' Tales for details). We will also be holding elections for the 2026 Board of Directors. So, watch this space for Zoom credentials, and for a slate of nominees. Contact David Lewis if you have questions.
FVDTC Members: We Want You!
If you are an FVDTC club member, and want to volunteer to help at a club event, you have several options. The easiest is to go to the club volunteer page:
You can also check the calendar or events pages, and then contact the appropriate committee chair.
If you want to be one of our invaluable instructors or helpers, contact the Director of Training.
Remember, every time you volunteer, you earn work credits toward awards and membership discounts. Thank you for your help.
FVDTC offers a complete range of classes including Puppy, Conformation, Rally, and all levels of Obedience. Many of our members are also involved in Agility, Tracking, Water Rescue Dog, Herding Training, and Therapy Dog work. We are enthusiastic about helping those interested in these various canine activities. FVDTC welcomes mixed breed dogs into our training program. Both Mixed breeds and Purebreds can earn titles through AKC and UKC registries, as well as qualify for club awards.
